about
Bell Street Collective is a London-based funk, jazz, and disco outfit specialising in infectious grooves and feel-good energy. We blend tight musicianship with a love for live performance, whether it’s a packed dance floor, an intimate soirée, or a high-end wedding. Our sets mix classic funk and disco with sing-along pop and soulful jazz, creating an atmosphere that’s both sophisticated and electric.
testimonials
"Bell Street Collective played for my 21st at Soho Farmhouse, and they were incredible! They brought the energy for an amazing night set, keeping everyone dancing, and then switched things up perfectly for a laid-back brunch performance the next morning. Their versatility and talent set the tone for both parts of the celebration—couldn’t have asked for a better vibe all around!"-Honey (21st Birthday Celebration)"We couldn’t have asked for a better band for our wedding. From the start, the communication was brilliant, and the band went above and beyond by learning our first dance song, which sounded incredible. They absolutely nailed the atmosphere we wanted in our barn venue, and the dance floor was packed from the first dance right through to the final song. So many of our guests commented afterwards on how amazing the music was. We’d recommend Bell Street Collective to anyone looking for a talented, professional band that genuinely cares about making your day special"-Lily (Lily and Sam's Norfolk Wedding Celebration)"I first heard Bell Street Collective playing on the street during the Edinburgh Fringe, and their sound stopped me in my tracks. They were so good that I booked them on the spot for my 50th birthday party a few months later! They brought the same incredible energy to our celebration, and every guest was raving about the music. It was truly a night to remember, thanks to this fantastic band!"-Nick (50th Birthday Celebration)"Our wedding was held in Louis' Restaurant in Manchester, so finding a band that could lean into that style while still keeping the energy high was really important to us. Bell Street Collective were perfect. They were incredibly accommodating, learning several songs we requested and putting together a jazz-inspired set that felt completely at home in the venue. The musicianship was exceptional, and they struck the perfect balance between sophisticated live music and getting everyone up enjoying themselves. They were one of the highlights of the day, and we’d book them again in a heartbeat.”-Lucy (Wedding in Manchester)

who we are
We're a group of musicians who met at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. We got together in 2021 with the aim of taking our favourite pop songs and drenching them with a healthy dose of jazz, funk, and fusion. Since then, we have played with a diverse range of talented players, our latest iteration including drums, bass, keys, saxophone, and vocals.

why 'bell street'
In a rush to record our first few live singles, we looked for a suitable venue that would provide both the right sound and visual aesthetic. Given the absence of adequate studios, we ultimately decided to record in our bass player's living room, located on Bell Street in the center of St Andrews. Our proposed two-hour recording turned into a 6+ hour endeavour which, much to the neighbors' displeasure, didn't end until 3am.

what came next
Over the last few years, we have performed at countless gigs around the UK, including Welly Ball, Scotland's largest black-tie dinner which boasts 2000+ attendees every year, Live Lounge, a collaboration with BPM Music involving live hip-hop and techno, the Edinburgh Fringe, including residency at Underbelly and The Pear Tree with frequent busking performances on the Royal Mile, and private parties at venues such as Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire and Bowcliffe Hall in Leeds.
no venue is off limits
Aside from weddings, private parties, and even headlining our university's graduation ball, we’ve played a wide variety of events, from intimate gatherings to unique outdoor performances. One of our favorite gigs was at sunset on Castle Sands, beneath St Andrews' 800-year-old castle, with the waves lapping the shore. If you can imagine it, we can play it.
